As a lifetime lover of music, a gigging musician for over thirty years, and a collector and player of fine guitars, Scott Ptak, our Principal Photographer, found his niche photographing his own guitars, then the guitars of friends and colleagues. As anyone who has tried can tell you, getting a good photograph of a guitar is as much science as it is art - the challenges are great with light refraction, finding the right angles and, most importantly, representing the artistry and vision of the luthier who brought life to the instrument. Scott has shot guitars professionally for custom luthier shops, The Fretboard Journal Magazine - the epitome of exceptional instrument photography and interviews, and many others. He has traveled to the major Guitar Shows throughout the United States photographing some of the finest instruments in the world - and would love to photograph yours.
